The best way to enquire about a cake is to complete an online enquiry form. Sandra can also be contacted by telephone or email. Please be sure to include information about the event date, location and number of guests in your message.
Sandra might be baking or decorating a cake and may not be able to answer your telephone call straight away so please leave a message and she will reply as soon as possible.
For both wedding and celebration cakes it is best to enquire as far ahead as possible.
Consultations are by appointment and are for two people although a maximum of three people may be accommodated with advance notice and at Sandra's discretion.
They usually last about an hour and you will be offered a selection of cake samples along with tea and coffee.
Consultations are on weekends and weekdays depending on availability.
It's a good idea to bring along any colour swatches, pictures or sources of inspiration you may have.
After the consultation Sandra will be able to supply a personalised quotation along with design drawings to illustrate the ideas and themes discussed.
For weddings between May and October, as well as Christmas, New Year and Bank Holidays it is advisable to book your cake as early as possible.
For wedding cake orders a deposit of £100 is required which is deducted from the final balance payment.
If you can't visit Sandra for a consultation, your date can be reserved with a £100 holding deposit and you can decide upon your design at a later date. The deposit is deducted from the final balance payment.
For celebration cake orders up to £200 a deposit of half the quoted price is payable. For orders over £200 a deposit of £100 is required.
Bookings are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Sometimes Sandra is able to accommodate last minute orders so please do get in touch.
As each cake is individually designed and may come in a variety of shapes and sizes with more or less decoration it is not possible to give set prices. However as a guide, cake prices start from:
The portion guides below allow for sponge cakes to be served in 2 inch by 1 inch slices (5cm by 2.5cm) and fruit cake in 1 inch by 1 inch (2.5cm by 2.5cm) slices.
Portion sizes are designed to be served with coffee. If you plan to have your cake as a dessert the portions will need to be larger. Sandra will be happy to advise you on dessert cakes and portion sizes.
Sandra Monger Cake Design offers a personal wedding cake delivery and set-up service to ensure that your cake is displayed to perfection. Sandra will liaise with your wedding coordinator to arrange a delivery time and to check that all the necessary arrangements are taken care of in advance.
After the cake has been set up, written cutting instructions detailing flavours, decorative and structural items and allergy advice will be given to the chef and/or event coordinator.
Prices for delivery and set up are based upon distance to the venue, time of set up required and style of cake. In many cases delivery in the Bath area is free of charge, subject to availability, delivery date and time and type of cake. Sandra will be happy to provide details on request.
